If you are having issues opening the Spalk Desktop app on your Mac it may due to your system settings. Your Mac may be set to only allow apps from the App Store. You can change this setting to allow apps both from the App Store and those signed and certified by Apple (such as Spalk Desktop). This setting is safe and does not permit unauthorised software to be run.
Follow these steps to change this setting, after which you should be able to open Spalk Desktop.
1. Open 'System Preferences'/'System Settings' (depending on the version of macOS you have).

2. Open the 'Privacy & Security' category.

3. Find the section labeled 'Allow applications downloaded from'. On earlier versions of macOS this will be under the 'General' tab, on newer versions you will need to scroll about two-thirds of the way down the right side of the window.
4. On earlier versions of macOS you may need to unlock the window but clicking the padlock and entering your password.
5. Select the 'App Store and identified developers' option.
Now try opening Spalk Desktop again. If you still have issues please contact support.
