If you cannot see your audio device in the available devices list, it means your browser cannot access that device. This typically means your computer can't access it either. Please follow the steps below to try to find.
- Ensure the device is plugged in.
Check your device is plugged into your computer correctly, if it requires power or has a power light, ensure that is plugged in and turned on too. - Ensure your system sound settings recognise the device. If you're not sure where to find these settings, click here.
- Try a different USB port or plug.
If the device is on, plugged in and your computer still can't see it, try plugging it into a different socket. - Try plugging your audio device into a different computer.
If the device is still not recognised, it may be broken. Trying a second computer will allow you to isolate the problem to either the audio device, or your computer. If it is broken, you'll need to try to get it repaired or replaced ASAP. In these situations it is very useful to have backup gear. - Restart Chrome.
Sometimes chrome may not register a new audio device even when it is connected and working correctly. If you have verified the device is active in the system settings, try restarting Chrome so it will pick up the device.
