The loopback option enables you to listen to your own microphone input through your headphones. This feature is very useful when you are testing or troubleshooting your microphone, or you want to listen to your own voice while you commentate.
Note: Ensure you are using headphones 🎧, otherwise you might cause a nasty feedback loop when your microphone picks up it's own input through the speakers.
- Open Spalk commentary studio.
- Scroll down to the quick selection icons.
- Click on the headphone over microphone icon to enable Loopback.
- An orange ring will appear when the function is enabled.
Note: Loopback audio can have a latency(delay) of up to 500ms. This can make it difficult to speak naturally due to the effect of delayed auditory feedback. We recommend using this function to test "how Spalk hears your microphone" during troubleshooting.
For low-latency monitoring most professional audio setups will provide a hardware-based option (eg: 3.5mm jack, or a button to route microphone signal to output).
