Your microphone is the most important part of delivering high-quality broadcast audio. Whenever possible, we highly recommend using a high-quality external unidirectional microphone rather than a built-in laptop microphone.
If your primary microphone fails, disconnects, or the wrong device has been selected, you can quickly switch to another microphone connected to your computer.
Switching Your Microphone in the Commentary Studio
- In the Spalk Commentary Studio, locate the chat panel next to the audio volume sliders.
- Click the ⚙️ Settings icon.
- Find the Input Audio Device dropdown menu.
- Select the microphone you want to use from the list of available devices.
Wait for the studio to reconnect. with the broadcast.
Important
After changing microphones, your connection to Spalk will automatically reset. During this process:
- You may disconnect for approximately 10 seconds
- Audio transmission will temporarily stop
- The studio status will change while reconnecting
Before continuing commentary, wait until the status indicator shows LIVE again.
