How to switch your audio input device from the studio

Your microphone is the most important factor in delivering high quality audio for a broadcast. We recommend using a high-quality external unidirectional microphone for your commentary. If your first choice of microphone fails, or the incorrect microphone is selected, you can easily switch your microphone input to another device connected to your computer by following the steps below.

1. From within the spalk commentary studio scroll to the chat box next to the volume sliders.
2. Switch to the settings tab by clicking the ⚙️ icon.
3. Select your device from the input audio drop down list.
4. After switching to the new microphone your connection to Spalk will automatically reset, meaning you will be disconnected for about 10s. It is best to wait until the status bar says LIVE again to continue with the broadcast.
5. Producers can also switch a commentator's microphone easily from the Dashboard, or the Producer studio by selecting the team member's name and from the dropdown above the settings panel.
