A Spalk output represents the process of sending the live feed, mixed with commentary to somewhere downstream of Spalk. The destination could be an OTT platform to your viewers, a broadcast decoder for baseband transmission, your social channels or another cloud based production service (eg Highlights, clipping etc).
- If you are in the process of uploading an event, click the "Schedule outputs" tab in the top left. You should see this interface:
- Otherwise, navigate to the Dashboard select Upcoming Events
- Find the event you wish to schedule. If you have many events scheduled it can be useful to search and filter your events in the search bar.
- Click on the Outputs icon to drop down the outputs tab
- From the menu on the left, select the audio track you wish to include in your output. If you wish to send a copy of the input that Spalk receives without any commentary (for example for archiving), select the input labelled "Clean Input".
- Enter the URL of the destination in the Target URL input field.
- RTMP urls look like this: rtmp://<username>:<password>@<server>/<app>/<streamkey>
E.g. rtmp://user1:p@ssw0rd@input.spalk.rtmp.com/live/stream-key-1
If you don't have a username and password, they can be ignored.
E.g. rtmp://input.spalk.rtmp.com/live/stream-key-2 - To construct SRT urls, consult the guide here.
- RTMP urls look like this: rtmp://<username>:<password>@<server>/<app>/<streamkey>
- Select which trigger should start the output
- Publish when event starts.
This will start the output as soon as Spalk is successfully receiving input from the uplink encoder.
Note: If Spalk does not receive input, we will have nothing to send, so we won't start exactly at the event start time if there is no input. - Publish when commentator is online
This will start the output as soon as the commentator is successfully connected. - Set preferred time
This will start the output at the time you specify, set in your system timezone.
Note if Spalk is not receiving input at this time, we won't have anything to send, so the output will continuously attempt to start after this time until either input arrives and it is able to successfully start, or the event end time elapses.
- Publish when event starts.
- (Optional) To configure advanced settings, click "Set Advanced Options". If you make no changes, you will receive the feed in the same quality as you are sending to us.
Remember to click Save after setting your advanced settings once you have confirmed them. - Click Schedule.
- You can review, update or delete any scheduled updates by coming back to the output dropdown at any point before the event goes live.
