General steps
- Ask them to reload the page (most common solution).
- Adjust their levels in the Studio or Dashboard mixer.
- Ask them to unplug their mic and then plug it back in.
- Have them do a network speed test to ascertain if it is a connection problem. Commentators can use this article to do the speed test.

- Click on the headphone icon under the “Commentators” tab in your event.
- Click on the “Mixer” icon on the right.
- Click on the settings icon on the right.
- Click on the white box next to the settings icon and select the commentator’s name from the dropdown list.
- Under “Select Audio Input” please ensure the mic that the commentator is using is selected.
- You can check the “Using External Microphone” option to ensure better audio quality for external mics.
If this doesn’t help, ask them to follow ALL the steps in this article on adjusting system sound settings as per their operating system.
Steps to fix specific audio issues
- Pops, breathing or booming, muffled audio - have the commentator adjust the position of their microphone so that it is further away from them.
- Echo or environmental noise - ask them to move to a different location. If changing location is not possible, echo can be dealt with in another way. Ask the commentator to place pillows and blankets or fabric in front of them to act as acoustic absorbers and prevent their voice from echoing around the room.
- Crowd or ambient noise from the feed looping into the microphone - ask the commentator to use headphones.
