When uploading your event, you can invite specific commentators to commentate separately or co-commentate in a team. If your event has been set to private, commentators must be invited in order to give them access.
IMPORTANT: Adding or removing commentators within a team during a current live event can cause commentator's connections to reset. For this reason, it is recommended that team changes should only be done during breaks or best of all, before the event starts.
- If you are in the middle of uploading an event, click on the "Invite Commentators" tab on the left. You should see this interface:
- Otherwise navigate to the Dashboard and find your event. Make sure you are looking at “Upcoming Events” if the event has yet to start, or at “Live Events” if it has already started.
- Click on the icon under “Invite” that looks like this:
. A dropdown called “Invite Commentators” will open.
- Type the commentator's username into the input field. If you don’t know their username but do know the email they signed up with, enter their full email address into the input field. (You will see drop down suggestions when inviting someone through their Spalk username, but not when inviting through their email address)
- Click the plus icon
or press Enter to add the commentator.
- To create a commentary team:
- Drag a commentator to the "Drag here to add member" area next to another commentator you want them to co-commentate with.
- Make sure the commentator with the strongest connection is positioned to the very left so that they will have the Leader role. They should have a light blue coloring behind their name.
- A maximum of 5 commentators is possible.
- You can also set the language and team name in this section.
- You can remove commentators by clicking the "x" next to their name. To remove a commentator from a team but have them commentate individually on the event, you can move them to the "Drag here to create a new team" area which will create a separate audio track.
- Don't forget to click "Update" or "Next" to apply any changes you have made.
- You are now ready to schedule outputs.
