In this article, we will explain how the download button works and how to download the event recording after an event is over.
Spalk enables users to download recordings up to two weeks after events have ended. Please note that your account must have downloads enabled to access this feature. To enable recordings for your account, please contact us at contact@spalk.co
To initiate the download process, you must first wait for the event to end. After the event is over, you must find the event in your dashboard under "Completed Events" - you may want to filter them using the filter text box. Click on Commentators to drop down the list of commentary teams and click the corresponding button to start processing the recording. Spalk will process the recording from that event, which may take between 15-30 minutes. Once the recording has been processed, the button will turn green.
To download the recording to your computer, locate the download button again. Please note that if the download button has an orange status indicator, the recording has not finished processing. In this case, please wait a few more minutes for the status indicator to change to green.
Once you click the download button, the recording will begin to download to your computer. The download time may vary depending on the size of the recording and your internet connection speed.
It is important to note that once the download is processed, it will be stored on our servers for two weeks. You can trigger the download up to two weeks after the event has ended, and once you have downloaded it, you can store it on your computer, or in your Media Asset Management solution indefinitely.
If the download button shows a red status, there has been an error with the recording. If this is the case, please contact Spalk.
Important Note: Some media players have trouble playing back SRT streams that have multiple audio tracks. If the Spalk commentary is not mixed into track 1, it may appear that it is not present in the output. We recommend VLC Media Player in these cases, and you can play the file back using VLC's "Audio > Track > Track #" menu.
Downloads are an excellent way to access event recordings after the event has ended. Remember that your account must have downloads enabled, and it may take up to 30 minutes for the recording to be processed before you can download it. We hope this article has been helpful in explaining how to use the download button. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
